Yesterday we continued our site seeing by heading out to Colorado Springs to see a rock formation known as The Garden of the Gods. These rock formations are the remnants of the ancient original Rockie Mountains. (It is a little bit more complicated than that, but that is the gist of it)
These rocks were SPECTACULAR! I had so much fun! Plus I was breaking in my new hiking shoes, which had fantastic grip on the rocks.
There was a crack in the rock. We amused ourselves by trying to squeeze into it :)
I love climbing things! Trees, rocks, whatever. Most of the rocks were off limit to climb (again! aasdkjs) but some were okay. Naturally I was all over those.
There is Clarissa over in the corner there...to give you an idea how big these things were.
Random fire hydrant?
The Garden of the Gods from far away
Doesn't that rock look like it is just going to fall over at any second?
Seriously, this place was incredible. As sad as I am to leave it, I am excited too because today we actually cross over the Rockies! A feat that killed hundreds of colonials in their efforts and took weeks to do....and we shall do it in one day!
some spectacular scenery!
