For the past two nights I have been up till 1am working on the new layout for this blog! With my return to the US impending, I realized that I want to keep this blog going beyond its original purpose. When I originally made it, it was just for keeping my friends and family updated about my cross country road trip with my brother, and then later my travels while living in England, but I think there are some pretty exciting things coming up in my life that I want to continue to chronicle.
To put it simply, change is coming, and it is a change a lot of people in my generation have gone through, are going through, or are about to go through. Facing the reality of what kind of world we are entering, and having to transition from student to independent adult. It is scary and confusing and very often isolating. Hearing about other people's experiences and knowing that I am not the only one who doesn't have a clue is pretty comforting, and I want to share my experience with others.
So this is me re-branding my blog. No longer a travel blog, but now more the story of me I suppose. A young millennial woman navigating her world.
Why "Millennial Rose"? Well I have to give a lot of credit for my friend Ashley for that one. I wanted to go with a millennial theme, as I feel that being a part of this generation really defines the struggles and challenges of myself and millions of others face. She also knows my affinity for roses, a personal symbol I have always been drawn to. So yea, thanks Ashley!
I hope you all enjoy it. Once I am done with school I will have more time and energy to devote to this and my reviews blog......fingers crossed. For now it I am still closing in on that deadline for my dissertation, and have a trip to Germany coming up, so keep a lookout for that! Then it is back to the USA, and on the start of the rest of my life.....(cheesy? yes. Accurate? also yes.)
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of the change! (constructive) Feedback is always welcome!
Love it!
